Chapter 2: TURQUOISE

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s website, “The ocean is the lifeblood of earth, covering more than 70 percent of the planet’s surface, driving weather, regulating temperature, and ultimately supporting all living organisms… Yet for all of our reliance on the ocean, 95 percent of this realm remains unexplored, unseen by human eyes.”

In the second installment of King Tarahumara’s The Mystic Mixtape Trilogy, Chapter 2: TURQUOISE,” Papi Fimbres and Kevin Leigh Robinson offer a stronger dose of audible ayahuasca, encouraging listeners to explore the unknown watery depths of their own psyches. We wake up the following day in yet another planet, but we’re completely different beings with the same soul as before (“Fourteen Fingers”). Whereas some of the sights and sounds on GOLD may be more readily accessible, here we are challenged to plunge deeper, to honor the wisdom of those who’ve traveled before us while recognizing our own responsibilities on the journey: Smoking our ancestors/ words become stars/ Wake up! We’ve arrived (“Destination: Wake Up!”).

Such exploration is not for the faint of heart, but it is essential for the realization of one’s own power, a power which derives its source from ultimate Consciousness: the lifeblood of the soul. Bon voyage!
